Gibson Wes Montgomery Vintage Sunburst

There are very few artist/guitar relationships as strong as that of Wes Montgomery and the L-5CES. Although he originally played stock L-5 models with P-90 or Alnico pickups, Montgomery eventually custom ordered an L-5 with a rounded cutaway (1960's the L-5 had been restyled with a sharp, Florentine cutaway) and a single humbucking pickup at the end of the fingerboard. In the mid-1960's, Gibson briefly offered this version of the L-5CES as a production model, and today's Historic Collection offers it once again. Includes free Gibson hardshell case - a $228 value.

Gibson ES335 Reissue

While still retaining the archtop and violin styled F holes of hollow body guitars, the ES335 adds solid body thinking with a thinner, double cutaway body and a solid maple block through the center. This design in conjunction with two '57 Classic humbucking pickups, provides the versatile, warm, full-bodied tone that has made the ES335 a staple in all styles of music. (cherry) Includes Free Case. (A $159.00 Value.)

Gibson Custom Historic 1959 ES335 Dot Antique Natural

Having filled a gap in the market with the introduction the Thinline Series in 1955, Gibson was then faced with the challenge of creating a model with thinline looks and solidbody sustain. This challenge was met in 1958 with the introduction of the ES-335, an innovative new semi-hollowbody guitar. With its solid maple center block, arched top, f-holes, and chambered wings, the ES-335 provided the resonance of a solidbody, the looks of a traditional hollowbody, and the reduced weight of a thinline. Includes free Gibson custom shop case - a $220 value.
