A step up from Clarita (in detailing and selection of materials), Marieta is a tribute to the second epoch of Torres. The spruce-top Marieta features either the classic meander-pattern in the rosette (shown) which was one of Torres' more common motifs or a chain-link pattern (see photos of the cedar model). Loriente "Angela" Classical Guitar

The Angela is the only model to feature flamed European maple for the back and sides. The tone has a warmer glow and a more delicate voice than the rosewood counterparts. Many of the old masters used this wood to obtain these qualities (for centuries, maple has been used for other stringed instruments including violins, violas and cellos). So although very clear, with plenty of concert volume, the sound is more intimate and romantic - perfect for 19th century and early 20th century repertoire. The French polished soundboard allows the top to resonate with greater freedom, producing a harmonically rich and complex tone. Spruce Top, Maple back and sides, Gold Plated Tuners.
